5052 aluminum coil is an Al-Mg series rust-proof aluminum alloy coil, containing 2.2%-2.8% magnesium and a small amount of chromium, with excellent corrosion resistance (especially seawater erosion resistance) and medium strength (tensile strength can reach 210-260MPa). It has excellent formability, can be hardened by cold working, has good welding performance (suitable for argon arc welding), and has outstanding surface treatment effect. It is widely used in shipbuilding, automobile fuel tanks, chemical equipment, architectural decoration and electronic housing. The common state is H32 or H34 semi-hard state, with a thickness range of 0.2-6.0mm, and has both structural strength and weather resistance.

With excellent corrosion resistance, medium strength and good processing performance, 5052 aluminum alloy is mainly used in shipbuilding (ship plates, deck parts), chemical equipment (storage tanks, pipelines), transportation (automobile fuel tanks, car body panels), architectural decoration (curtain walls, roofs) and electronic appliances (housings, panels) and other fields. Its excellent resistance to seawater erosion is particularly suitable for marine environments, while its good formability and weldability (suitable for argon arc welding) make it the preferred material for parts that require rust prevention and plastic processing. The typical supply state is H32/H34 semi-hard state.

Production process

 

5052 aluminum coils are produced by continuous casting and rolling process. By accurately controlling the alloy ratio of magnesium (2.2-2.8%) and chromium (0.15-0.35%), the material has excellent stress corrosion resistance. The production process includes key processes such as smelting purification, casting and rolling forming, cold rolling finishing and annealing treatment, and the AGC automatic thickness control system is used to ensure the tolerance accuracy (±0.02mm). We are equipped with online eddy current flaw detectors and mechanical properties testing equipment to ensure that the mechanical properties of each roll of material are stable and reliable, with an elongation of up to 12-20%, which fully meets the processing requirements of deep drawing, bending, etc.

 

Surface treatment methods

 

5052 aluminum coils can provide a variety of professional surface treatment solutions: including anodizing (forming a 5-25μm oxide film), chemical passivation (chromate treatment) and PVDF coating and other anti-corrosion treatments. For decorative purposes, we can provide finishing processes such as wire drawing and mirror polishing, and the surface roughness can be controlled at Ra≤0.2μm. All treatment processes have passed the 48-hour neutral salt spray test and meet the ASTM B117 standard, which is particularly suitable for long-term use requirements in harsh working conditions such as marine environments.
