Aluminum Coils
Aluminum coil can be produced from aluminum ingots or other forms of raw aluminum (called cold rolling or direct cast) or from a smelting process directly through rolling (called continuous cast). These sheets of rolled aluminum are then rolled up, or coiled, around a core. These coils are densely packed, making them easier to ship and store when compared to aluminum in sheet form. Coil is used to manufacture an almost unlimited range of components used in an extensive number of industries.

Characteristics of Aluminum Coil
Non-corrosive
Aluminum is highly resistant to weathering and corrosion, even in industrial environments where other metals might corrode. It forms a thin but effective oxide layer that prevents further oxidation, making it highly resistant to many corrosive substances.
Easily machined and cast
Since it melts more readily than steel, aluminum coil is more pliable and simpler to pour into molds. Aluminum castings are also less stiff than steel, making them easier to work with while steel castings need a lot more effort. It is one of the most machinable metals available, making processing time cost-effective.
Lightweight yet durable
Due to its low density, aluminum is lightweight and portable, which is why it is often used in aircraft construction. Additionally, aluminum's ability to be recycled contributes to its durability.
Non-magnetic and Non-sparking
Aluminum's crystalline structure makes it non-magnetic, and any scratches quickly develop an oxide layer that prevents sparking.
Good thermal and electrical Conductor
Aluminum’s free electrons make it an excellent conductor of electricity and heat, due to the steady flow of electrons in its structure.
Soft
Aluminum coils are relatively soft, attributed to the available free electrons that facilitate bonding.
Non-toxic
Aluminum exposure is not harmful to the human body.
Malleable

Ductile
Aluminum is known for its low density, non-toxicity, high thermal conductivity, and exceptional corrosion resistance. It is easily cast, machined, and shaped, and is both non-magnetic and non-sparking. Being the second most malleable metal, aluminum is highly ductile, making it ideal for producing wire.
Aluminum Coil Grades




Alloy 1100: This is pure aluminum with excellent corrosion resistance and low strength. It’s often used for applications where high corrosion resistance is essential but high strength is not required, such as in chemical equipment and food packaging.
Alloy 3003: Known for its moderate strength and excellent corrosion resistance, 3003 aluminum coils are commonly used for roofing, gutter systems, and general sheet metal work.
Alloy 5052: This alloy offers high corrosion resistance and good formability. It’s suitable for marine applications, such as boat hulls and components, as well as architectural elements like siding and facades.
Alloy 6061: A heat-treatable alloy with good strength and weldability. It’s often used in structural components, automotive parts, and general fabrication where a balance of strength and formability is needed.
Alloy 8011: This is a commonly used aluminum alloy for packaging applications, including foil and coil for food packaging and pharmaceuticals.
