Color Coated Galvalume Steel Coil

Color Coated Galvalume Steel Coil is a product used for buildings in extreme environments. Color Coated Galvalume Steel Coil is a new material produced in China in recent years due to high-end applications, and is often referred to as PPGL. It is a product made of galvalume steel sheet (55% aluminum, 43% zinc and 1.6% silicon) with better corrosion resistance than galvanized steel sheet as the substrate, which is treated with surface degreasing, phosphating and chromate, and then coated with organic coating and baked.

Laminating

Laminating refers to the process of applying a transparent organic film (30-50um) on the outside of the steel coil at high temperature. After lamination, it has some special properties, such as fire resistance, fingerprint resistance, stronger anti-fouling ability, and more durability.

Coating

There are many types of steel coil coatings. The most commonly used coating topcoats are polyester (PE), silicon-modified polyester (SMP), high weather-resistant polyester (HDP) and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF).

Polyester PE

Good adhesion, easy processing and molding, low price, wide color selection, weather resistance, and UV resistance.

Silicon-modified polyester SMP

It has excellent pollution resistance, weather resistance, good adhesion, fast curing, strong coating hardness, good wear resistance and heat resistance, as well as good external durability and anti-powdering resistance, gloss retention, and excellent self-cleaning, light retention, and color retention. Its topcoat anti-corrosion ability can last up to 10-12 years.

Substrate selection: AZ150 (aluminum zinc coating amount 150g/m2;) G345A high strength aluminum zinc coated steel plate (55% aluminum, 43% zinc and 1.6% silicon)

Corrosion resistance data: 5% NaCL 35℃, 1000Hrs, Field good, Scribe No Blister 2mm or less

Q.U.V: 2000hrs, color difference MAX.2, light retention rate above 90%

The above data show that aluminum zinc color coated sheet (AZ150, G345A, PVDF) is very suitable for buildings or other facilities in extreme environments, with strong corrosion resistance and weather resistance, and all major steel mills can guarantee a service life of more than 20 years. In addition, high-strength steel sheets have been widely used abroad, with good economy, which is also the development trend in China.

The substrate is compared with galvanized 100g/m2 (Z100) and aluminum zinc 70g/m2 (AZ70)

From the above, we can see that the thickness of the single-sided coating of 70g aluminum-zinc is greater than that of 100g zinc-coated, and the special structure of aluminum-zinc alloy provides better durability. In addition, under the premise of superior durability, under the condition of the same weight, the length of 1 ton galvalume color-coated plate is greater than that of galvanized color-coated plate, thus having better economic efficiency.
